A panel discussion with distinguished experts on Syria, Turkish Kurdistan, and indigenous land rights in Israel.

This panel will explore how resistance is articulated and subaltern subjects are represented in rights discourses in the MENA region. Bringing together distinguished experts on digital media and media studies in the Syrian context, decolonial discourses and practices in Turkish Kurdistan through an anthropological lens, and the study of indigenous land rights in Israel from the perspectives of cultural studies, indigenous studies and human rights, the panel will offer a comparative framework for thinking about contemporary idioms of resistance across the landscape of the Middle East.
