ABOUT THE FILM
Tearless is about the U.S. military comfort women of 96 “camp towns” established by U.S. and Korean governments to provide sex workers (aka “U.S. military comfort women”) to the U.S. soldiers. Tearless explores the horrifying medical prison, “Monkey House,” built to isolate the women diagnosed with, or accused of, STDs. Tearless is the second film of Kim’s trilogy starting with 2017’s Bloodless which won the Best VR Story Award at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, followed by numerous awards and nominations.
